Wilbur L (Skip) Boots, age 83, of Fombell passed away July 8th peacefully at home with his family by his side after battling kidney disease.
Wilbur was born on September 3rd, 1938 in Ellwood City to the late Wilbur H and Eleanor (Koach) Boots of Frisco.
Wilbur graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1957 and attended Geneva College. He served in the U.S Army for 3 years in Germany attaining the rank of SP4. Wilbur retired from Robinson Industries in Zelienople after 32 years as purchasing manager. He enjoyed woodworking, farming, and gardening, but especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Wilbur is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Jane (Boyer) Boots; one daughter, Deborah (Jim) Fullerton of Bothell, WA ; two sons Richard of Fombell, and Raymond (Jennifer) Boots of Fombell; Grandchildren Julia and Emma Fullerton of Bothell, WA; Joshua (Kristina) Boots of Clinton, PA; Jordan (Courtney) Boots of Fombell, PA; and Raven (Eric) Sharp of Painesville, OH. Also surviving are five great grandchildren Hunter and Reagan Sharp, Rocko and Nash Boots, and Juniper Boots. Wilbur is also survived by one brother, Don Boots of West Pittsburgh and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Eleanor Boots and brother, James Boots of Beaver Falls, PA.
Wilbur was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City where he was active as a Sunday school teacher, member of the church choir and bell choir, the Carpenter’s Project and Church Elder. He was also active in the Zelienople Jaycees.
Per Wilbur’s wishes there will be no viewing.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00am with a memorial service held immediately after on Wednesday, July 13th at Calvin Presbyterian Church. 615 Crescent Ave Ellwood City, PA with Rev. Sean Brubaker officiating.
Full military honors will be conducted by Veteran”s Honor Guard.
Memorial contribution may be made to: Calvin Presbyterian Church or Ellwood City Food Bank
Interment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.
