William “Bill” Welsh

William “Bill” Welsh, 60, of Franklin Township passed away at his residence on May 2, 2021 after a courageous battle with small cell lung cancer.

Born September 27, 1960 in New Brighton he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Mildred Irene Clear Welsh. He was married to Crystal Lutz Welsh.

Bill was employed by A.T.I. in Zelienople as a super tradesman for over 30 years. He was a member of Lillyville Church of God. Bill liked working with his hands and could fix or build just about anything. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle trips, off roading, and spending time at his camp in Sheffield PA. He especially loved time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years Crystal, one son, Jonathan (Colleen) Welsh of Michigan, one daughter Nichole (Al) Crowther of Fombell; two sisters, Debbie Welsh Hickman and Diane Schmalenberger both of New Brighton; brother, Gary (Donna “Tootie”) Welsh of Rochester; two grandchildren, Hunter Brown and Peyton Crowther.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father in law and mother in law Carl and Delores Lutz and his best friends Ray Sutherland and Wes Beagle.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday May 5, 2021 from 3:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 pm with Pastor Dennis Arndt officiating at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Interment will follow in Lillyville Church of God Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the donors choice or the Lillyville Church of God.
