William E. Watterson

William E. Watterson, 82, of Wood St., Ellwood City died on  Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Ellwood City Hospital following a brief  illness.

Born August 17, 1930 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Mary E. Keefer Watterson.  He was married on September 5, 1930 to Dr. Lucille M. Wolfe Watterson who survives.

Mr. Watterson retired from Herr Voss Corporation where he was an engineer.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  Bill was a Veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Inchon Invasion.  He was a member of the American Legion Post in Ellwood City.  A 1949 graduate of Lincoln High School, Bill was a star basketball and football player.

In addition to his wife, Lucille, survivors include three sisters,  Mary Lou Doughty, Anna Mae Hall, both of Ellwood City, Betty Jean Watterson of Franklin, PA.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark David Watterson, and a brother, Charles Watterson.

At William’s request, funeral services will be private.  Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.
