William K. Blatchford, 69, of Bellian Dr., Fombell (Franklin Twp.) passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital following a brief illness.
Born June 14, 1945 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Samuel Blatchford and Mary McLaughlin Blatchford .
He was married to Patty Evans Blatchford, who survives.
Bill graduated from Riverside High School in 1965. Following graduation, he served in the US Navy from 1965-1971. He served on the USS Capricornus stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. He previously worked at Calgon in Ellwood City. He also managed the Romanian Club for 8 years and was a bartender at Evelyn’s Corral in Ellport. Bill was a member of the former Ellwood City VFW. He played on the men’s bar team at Evelyn’s and was a trustee for the Eagles Club. Bill was an avid golfer, and a NASCAR and Steeler Fan. He loved to cook.
In addition to his wife, Patty, survivors include three sons, Derek (Karen) Blatchford, Ryan (Lauren) Blatchford, Trevor (Danielle) Blatchford; step daughter, Lori (JP) Dehenaut, all of Ellwood City; sister, Mary Ann Nicklas of Daytona Beach, Florida, three brothers, Larry Blatchford of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jim Blatchford of Daytona Beach, Florida, Dennis Blatchford of South Carolina; nine grandchildren; and twenty five nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Blatchford, and a sister Patty Joback.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday April 29 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 am. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard.
Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
