Willis A. “Bill” Cooper, 86, of Galilee Road, North Beaver Township died on Thursday, November 29 at his home.
Born March 12, 1926 in Castlewood, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer E. and Nora Sis Majors Cooper. He was married to Rosemary Ann Murphey for 62 years, She survives.
Bill was a retired truck driver and a 30 year member of the Teamsters. He drove for Helms, Ryder, and PIE. Bill was an accomplished musician, playing the piano and guitar. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid Steelers and Pirate fan. Bill was a WWII Veteran with the Marine Corps from 1942 until 1946.
In addition to his wife, Rosemary Ann, survivors include three sons, William (Jackie) Cooper and James (Karen) Cooper, both of New Galilee, Rusty (Lisa) Cooper of Evergreen, CO; one daughter, Cindy Byers of Mesa, Arizona; sister, Birdie Voltz, of Warren, PA; ten grandchildren, Nikki Cooper, Jimmy (Jaclyn) Cooper, Joey (Jackie) Cooper, Josh Cooper, John Cooper, and Jacob Cooper all of the New Galilee area, Jason Cooper of Iowa, Anthony (Shiloh) Gennaro of Afton, Iowa, Kayla (Clifford) Fisher of California, and Kaytlyn Cooper of CO; and six great grandchildren, Molly, Emma, and Katy Gennaro, Rusty and Piper Fisher, and Olivia Murphey Cooper.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Knepper on September 9, 2006, six brothers, and four sisters.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday December 3, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Jason Hickman officiating. Military Rites will be observed by the Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery
